In 2020 and 2021 data collected at two locations downstream of the Hangman Creek confluence show 87 of 351 (25%) of samples exceed the applicable criterion.
Historic stream modifications, riparian clearing, and agricultural practices have increased sediment loading in Hangman Creek contributing to turbidity impairments in the Spokane River (Ecology 2009, Spokane Conservation District 2000)
