Site Description

Initial Investigation information was collected by Kittitas County Health Department and Ecology in 2011.  Investigations found that an unpermitted Moderate Risk and Dangerous Waste facility operated at the site since at least January 2010, and possibly since 1993.  Documented conditions that pose a threatened release of hazardous substances include storage of multiple waste types in a building with a leaky roof, lacking proper segregation of incompatible wastes without adequate secondary containment, improper documentation of waste container contents, storage beyond allowable time limits for a transporter and storage on a deteriorated floor surface.  These conditions have been observed at multiple inspections conducted over several months.

Voluntary Cleanup Program

This site is in our Voluntary Cleanup Program, which provides technical help to owners of contaminated sites.

Voluntary Cleanup Program customers pay fees to cover our costs for technical help and reviewing cleanup reports. Sites in this program must meet the same cleanup standards as sites Ecology manages under legal orders.
