In July 2011, sampling conducted prior to accumulated sediment removal to rehabiliate the first of two cells in a stormwater retention/treatment swale at the Love's Travel Center in Ellensburg was found to be contaminated with diesel and oil.  Seasonal groundwater entered the excavation, indicating that the contaminated soil was in contact with groundwater.
