The site is located in a commercial area in the north end of Wenatchee. Ag Supply sells gasoline, diesel fuel and propane, as well as farm chemicals, hardware and pet supplies. In January 2000, approximately 275 gallons of diesel fuel were accidentally released from an above ground storage tank. The fuel overflowed from a containment area and flowed into a nearby sewer manhole.
The top six inches of soil along the spill trace was removed and disposed of off-site. Field screening results and a composite sample of soil left in place indicated no contamination remained following the cleanup. However, the site remained listed due to an insufficient number of confirmational samples.
Soil was retested along the spill trace in March 2023 for diesel and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes. Contaminants were either not detected or detected at concentrations below the state cleanup level, leading to a No Further Action determination by Ecology.
