Site Background
The site is a former roadside dump, located in a a bedrock notch originally excavated as a railroad grade. It was used for solid waste disposal from around 1980 until the summer of 1990, when it was closed by Okanogan County and covered with five to six feet of sand and gravel. The site was investigated in 1990 because drums and pesticide containers were found alongside old cars, appliances, and trash.
