Pederson Fryer Farms Inc
Site Description
From 1948 to 1998, the site was a poultry processing plant. Pederson Fryer Farms operated the plant until 1996, when it declared bankruptcy. Foster Farms then ran the plant until 1998. Underground storage tanks at the poultry plant leaked diesel and oil into soil and groundwater. Pederson Fryer Farms began closing and removing some of these tanks in 1994. Some of the contaminated soil was removed at that time.
Ecology has now completed the investigation of where the contamination is at the site, looked at the best methods to do the cleanup, and completed a draft plan describing the cleanup options it has chosen. Ecology is managing the cleanup process, which will be paid for by an insurance company.
