First choose the area you want to search. There are two ways to do this:
Not seeing the right result? The search looks for addresses, cleanup site names, and cleanup site IDs. You can specify which one you're looking for using the drop-down menu on the search bar.
Once you have executed a search, a list of results will appear in the left panel. You can select a site from the list or directly from the map
Hover over a row to highlight where the site is on the map. Clicking the row or the map dot will open a popup window with basic site information. Click the site name in the popup to open the cleanup site webpage in a new tab. Cleanup site webpages have more detailed information, including links to electronic documents.
Filters are available to refine your search. Click Filters above the results list or on the menu bar. Click on a term to see its definition. Select any combination of filters. They will be automatically applied to the map and the list of results, and the 'site count' number will change.
Reset all filters using the 'Clear' button at the top of the filter panel.
You can select multiple options from filters with drop-down menus. When you select multiple options, the map will shows sites that meet any of the criteria for that filter. That is, if you select 'arsenic' and 'lead', you will see all sites that have arsenic or lead. It will not be limited to sites that have the combination of arsenic and lead.
Search results can be exported in excel, csv, or json format. Clicking the 'Export' button above the list of sites and selecting the file format.
Results can also be exported in map form using the print icon in the upper-right corner of the map panel.
What's In My Neighborhood shows contamination cleanup sites in Washington state. Ecology works to clean up these sites to protect the health of people and the environment. Cleanups are construction projects that remove, treat, or contain potentially harmful substances.
The application is maintained by Ecology's Toxics Cleanup Program. Information is updated nightly.
