Description The Washington State Department of Ecology’s Hazardous Waste and Toxics Reduction Program conducted a pilot project during the 1996-1997 school year to promote the use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in elementary and secondary schools. Schools that volunteered to receive technical assistance were visited by Ecology staff and/or volunteers trained in the fundamentals of IPM. Visits were made to 65 schools in 12 districts.
