Description Located primarily in Whatcom County, Washington, the Nooksack River basin encompasses 825 square miles of diverse geography between the northwestern slopes of the Cascade Mountains, through foothills and lowlands to Bellingham Bay. The lowlands area is the focus of a plan by local, tribal and state officials to improve water quality.
The mission of the Department of Ecology is to protect, preserve, and enhance Washington’s environment. To help us meet that goal, please consider the environment before you print or request a copy.
