Description Daphnia pulex (water flea) acute bioassays were conducted on samples of Columbia River intake water from the Chinet Company in Wenatchee approximately twice monthly between May and June 2001. The impetus for the monitoring program was data collected by Chinet showing the intake became acutely toxic to Daphnia during the spring of 1999 and again in the spring of 2000.
