Description The Underground Injection Control program's (UIC) goal is to protect groundwater by regulating the disposal of fluids into the ground. Most UIC wells or injection wells are simple devices that allow fluids into the shallow subsurface under the force of gravity; such as wells located along parking lots and roads to manage stormwater runoff. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) revised the federal UIC regulations in 1999. The
state rule needs to be updated to become current and reflect those revisions.
