Description In 2001-02, the Valley Institute for Research and Education (VIRE) tested 249 private wells of low-income residents of the lower Yakima Valley in Washington State. The primary purpose of this project was to describe to participants the quality of their drinking water. They also wanted to gather baseline data on the quality of the ground water in the area.
