Description | The purpose of the Environmental Impact Statement for the Dungeness Water Users Comprehensive Water Conservation Plan is to assess environmental effects of implementing the 1999 Comprehensive Water Conservation Plan for the Water Users' irrigation facilities. The Water Conservation Plan laid out both structural and non-structural means of improving operational efficiency and thereby reducing diversions from the Dungeness river. The EIS considered several alternatives for implementing the structural improvements. The main environmental issues related to the potential effects of reduced recharge being delivered to the ground water and small streams due to reduced leakage from currently unlined ditches. Effects on water rights were also assessed. A ground water model was also developed by Tetra Tech FW as part of this analysis. |
