Description | Stormwater runoff and stormwater outfall sediments at three Puget Sound boatyards were analyzed for a range of chemical contaminants including petroleum, copper and other metals, organotins, semivolatile organic compounds, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). The results are compared to Washington State water and sediment quality standards. Boatyard-related chemicals that appear to have the greatest potential for adverse effects in the receiving waters are copper, zinc, lead, tributyltin, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, and phthalates. Recommendations are made for addressing these contaminants. | ||||
