Description In the 2006 Legislative session, Ecology proposed and was granted a $1.45 million oil spill response equipment caching grant. The purpose of the grant is to pre-position (pre-stage) response equipment trailers throughout the state. The equipment will include oil spill containment boom and adsorbent materials loaded into pre-packaged trailers. In the event of a spill, this equipment can then be rapidly mobilized and deployed to contain the spill or to protect local resources. Additionally, this equipment will add to the state’s inventory of response equipment in the event of a large spill requiring regional response equipment resources.
