Description The Washington State Department of Ecology and Washington Manufacturing Services partnered in a lean and environment pilot project with a Lasco Bathware facility in Yelm, Washington. The objectives were to (1) evaluate the benefits and synergies of deliberately integrating environmental considerations into on-the-ground lean practices; (2) improve product quality, production efficiency, and product flow in specific areas of Lasco’s plant; and (3) gain experience to offer and promote lean and environment projects to manufacturers statewide.
