Description One of the greatest challenges the Columbia River Water Resources Management Program
faces is obtaining adequate data to make sound water resource management decisions. The
Legislature directs Ecology to fill this data gap, in part through metering, by:
1. including a directive to report metered water use data by June 30, 2009 as part of
Ecology’s development of the Columbia River Water Information System; and
2. including funding for metering in the $10 million budget proviso (Section 7 of the
Legislation).
The Columbia River Water Metering Project is designed to meet these legislative directives.
