Description The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is responsible for setting minimum standards for developments in floodplains. Recently, the U.S. District Court ordered FEMA to change its current National Flood Insurance Program. The court ruled changes are needed to reduce environmental impacts on species protected under the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA).
