Description | The Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) Ecological Restoration Evaluation assessed the effectiveness of 28 habitat improvement projects that involved the use of WCC crew labor. The evaluation was initiated in response to a July 2005 AmeriCorps rule, which requires grantees to perform an independent evaluation of primary service activities. Habitat restoration is the primary service activity for the WCC program. This report takes a first step in a long-term effort to determine effective practices in habitat restoration completed by the WCC. Future analysis will continue to explore methods for improvements, most specifically sponsor collaboration and post-planting site upkeep. |
