Description This report contains the results of an on-site inspection performed on October 3, 2007, and a subsequent safety evaluation of the Matney Dam performed by the Dam Safety Office of the Department of Ecology.

Matney Dam is located approximately 12 miles northeast of Northport, Washington, on Joe Creek, a tributary of East Fork Cedar Creek, which in turn is a tributary of Cedar Creek. The facility is owned and operated by Messrs Mike and Ron Matney. The reservoir is used primarily for fish propagation and recreation.

Matney Dam was built to create a reservoir for private water supply and recreation purposes. The dam is formed by an earthen embankment built across Joe Creek. The dam was designed and built by Clearwater Construction & Engineering, Inc. of Lewiston, Idaho, and was completed in 1976.
