Description The Harris Avenue Shipyard site is about 8 acres (4 acres of sediment in the water and 4 acres of land) and is on the Bellingham Bay shoreline in Fairhaven, WA. Portions of the property at 201 Harris Avenue and surrounding areas were contaminated during past shipyard operations. The WA Dept. of Ecology and the Port of Bellingham have completed a draft agreed order for the site. When final, the agreement will require the port to conduct a remedial investigation/feasibility study and develop a cleanup action plan. Public comments will be accepted October 30 through November 30, 2009.
