Description In 2008, Ecology analyzed one soil sample from 85 different locations near and downwind of the Rayonier Mill property in Port Angeles, WA. The purpose of the sampling was to: help determine concentration of dioxins and furans in the surface soils that might have been impacted by air emissions from the mill; and the former mill's contribution to measured dioxin contamination compared to other possible sources. Ecology's draft report on further evaluation of the study is available for comment. Public comments will be received July 14 through August 30, 2011.
