| Description | The Washington State Department of Ecology Freshwater Monitoring Unit collected monthly water quality information at 92 stream monitoring stations during Water Year 2011 (October 1, 2010 - September 30, 2011). We also collected 30-minute interval temperature data at 27 sites from July through September 2011. The principal goals of this ongoing monitoring program are to monitor trends in water quality of rivers and streams in Washington State, support a probabilistic monitoring program, and support Clean Water Act Section 303(d) reporting. This report documents data quality and presents results for Water Year 2011. This year′s report also includes evaluations of (1) quality control results from continuous multi-parameter monitoring and lake total phosphorus monitoring and (2) metals in the Similkameen River after the re-opening of an open pit copper mine. |
