Description Port Angeles Harbor has long been home to pulp, paper, plywood, petroleum, shipping, and other industries. Over time, these activities released contamination into the local environment. Parts of the harbor have harmful levels of dioxins/furans, pesticides, metals, and other contaminants. Some areas also have wood debris, which can produce toxic ammonia and
sulfides.
