Description The Department of Ecology (Ecology) proposes to recommend to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that it find Washington State meets the new annual federal air quality standard for fine particles, or PM2.5. PM2.5 is small pieces of dust, soot, and smoke in the air. The public can request a hearing on this recommendation by October 17, 2013. If no hearing is requested, Ecology will not hold one.
