Description | Brief training video shows the difference between “open” and “closed” containers of dangerous waste, according to Washington State rules. Explains why this is important. Illustrates proper and improper closure and what can be done to fix problems. Several Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 173-303 sections changed when Ecology adopted EPA’s Generator Improvements Rule in 2019. Regulations for storing closed dangerous waste containers are now found in: • WAC 173-303-172(5)(c)(i) – medium quantity generator central accumulation areas. • WAC 173-303-174(1)(c)(i) – medium and large quantity generator satellite accumulation areas. • WAC 173-303-200(3)(c)(i) – large quantity generator central accumulation areas. • WAC 173-303-630(5)(a) – treatment, storage, and disposal facilities. |
