| Description | The Kaiser Trentwood Site (Kaiser) is located at 15000 East Euclid in Spokane Valley, Spokane County, Washington. The facility was built in 1942 by the U. S. Government Defense Plant Corporation to produce aluminum for World War II aircraft. In 1946, Kaiser leased the facility and in 1949 purchased it along with the property. It now operates as an aluminum sheet, plate, and coil rolling mill. Kaiser is required to meet RCRA closure requirements for all hazardous waste management units. The closure requirements ensure all hazardous wastes are removed and properly managed, and any contamination is cleaned up. Ecology is currently seeking public comment to finalize the 2010 Closure Plan (Plan) revised in August 2013. |
