Description This is the 2013 update of the Sediment Management Standards, Chapter 173-204 WAC. This replaces the 1995 Sediment Management Standards Rule (Publication No. 96-252). The purpose of this chapter is to reduce and ultimately eliminate and ultimately reduce adverse effects on biological resources and significant health threats to humans from surface sediment contamination by: establishing standards for the quality of surface sediments; applying these standards as the basis for management and reduction of pollutant discharges; and providing a management and decision process for the cleanup of contaminated sediments.
