Description The Washington State Department of Ecology prepared this fact sheet to announce the planned cleanup of the Landsburg Mine site. Landsburg Mine is a former underground coal mine near Ravensdale in southeast King County. During the late 1960s to late 1970s, industrial wastes were disposed in the trench that formed above the former mine. Ecology and Potentially Liable Persons (PLPs) will enter into a legal agreement where the PLPs agree to clean up the site. The public is invited to review and comment on documents pertaining to this planned cleanup. Comments will be accepted from October 11 through December 12, 2013.
