| Description | This report summarizes the primary results of a 2011 survey of sediment quality in Budd Inlet. The survey was conducted as part of the Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program (previously called the Puget Sound Assessment and Monitoring Program). Sediment chemistry, toxicity, and sediment-dwelling invertebrate community structure were measured at 30 stations. The Sediment Quality Triad Index was calculated for each station and used to estimate the spatial extent of sediment quality categories throughout the bay. Results are placed into context with those from a companion survey of the encompassing South Puget Sound region, with the same variables and methods, also conducted in 2011.
