Description | The Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) conducted a study of quality metrics for modeling and other analyses completed as part of Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) technical studies. This report provides a synopsis of quality metrics from 41 of Ecology’s TMDL analyses. These results support Ecology’s efforts to improve quality assurance for water quality modeling by providing some context for the level of model quality that might be expected in future studies. The report gives recommendations for improved and more consistent reporting of model quality metrics. Ecology conducted this study with the support of an internship through the Masters of Environmental Studies program at The Evergreen State College. |
