Description Ecology developed the Quick Chemical Assessment Tool (QCAT) to assist small and medium sized businesses ensure that the safer alternatives they are using in their processes really are safer, and not regrettable substitutions (replacement of one toxic chemical for another equally or even more toxic one). While QCAT does not identify preferable alternatives to a chemical of concern, it quickly identifies chemicals that are not viable safer alternatives.
