Description Learn how you can make a difference for the environment by picking up litter during the summer. In this video, three people who’ve been there share their rewarding experiences working on the EYC.

Each year, youth between that ages of 14 and 17 pick up about 1.2 million pounds of litter from along streets and highways. Just under 200,000 pounds of that is recycled.

While employed, EYC members gain valuable job skills, teamwork experience, safety awareness and educational field trips about solid waste management.

Since 1975, EYC has employed over 12,000 youth, and each year hire over 300 teens statewide to provide an important service to their communities. Learn more on Ecology’s website: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/swfa/eyc/index.html.
