Description This report presents the results of a study begun in 2010 by the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Toxics Cleanup Program. The study evaluated natural background groundwater arsenic levels in Washington state, using data from more than 5,000 public water supply wells. “Natural background” means not altered by human activity.

REVISION NOTE: A draft of this document was available for public comment from Thursday, July 15 through Monday, August 16, 2021. Comments received during that time have been incorporated into the final document.
