Description A periodic review is conducted at least every five years after the initiation of a cleanup action at a site or property, as required by the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA); and is part of the EPA five-year review for 2010 through 2014. The purposes of the review are to evaluate site conditions for each of the petroleum terminals and to ensure continued protection of human health and the environment, when institutional controls are used as part of a remedy.
The Periodic Review Reports showed the three petroleum terminals in compliance with the MTCA requirements and are protective of human health and the environment. Cleanup actions continue at some specific locations, and groundwater compliance monitoring continues at the terminal.
