Description In 2015, the Department of Ecology (Ecology) conducted a study to support developing guidance for consistency in preparing and analyzing consumer products. Ecology staff carried out the following analysis on archive samples of children’s clothing and other products from the original 2014 project: (1) laboratory split samples consisting of fabric matrices were prepared by cryomilling or hand-cutting and then analyzed for a suite of metals, and (2) laboratory split samples consisting of one archived plastic material and two standard reference materials were analyzed for phthalates using both the Consumer Product Safety Commission method and EPA Method 3546/8270D modified.
