| Description | In 2013-2016, the Department of Ecology conducted quarterly groundwater sampling of 33 wells at the Ione Airport Kwik Stop cleanup site. During August 2016, 12 wells (43%) had GRPH (gasoline) concentrations that exceeded the MTCA Method A cleanup level of 800 ug/L. BTEX (benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, xylene) compounds were detected at concentrations higher than the applicable MTCA Method A cleanup levels in three of the sampled wells (11%), which are located between the Kwik Stop and the Cabin Grill, a former restaurant located downgradient to the SE of the Kwik Stop. The most significant groundwater contamination exists near the Kwik Stop and the Cabin Grill. Active remediation is ongoing at these locations. | ||||
