Description This document is the Environmental Assessment Program (EAP) Toxics Study Unit (TSU) Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for resecting DNA samples and structures for determining fish age in fish fin. The Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) works cooperatively with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) in the collection of fish DNA sample tissue and age structures. Age structures include scales, otoliths, operculum, and spines from pectoral and/or dorsal fins.
