Description This preliminary re-evaluation compares the amounts and characteristics of the filter backwash wastewaters discharged to waters of the State by water treatment plants not presently covered by the Water Treatment Plant General Permit with those of the water treatment plants currently covered. Ecology will use the results (1) To validate some of the assumptions underlying the Water Treatment Plant General Permit and related policies; and (2) To inform the scope and requirements of future permits.
