Description Ecology served as the lead organization for the National Estuary Program (NEP) Cooperative Agreement for Toxics and Nutrients Prevention, Reduction, and Control (2011-2019). The goal of the NEP Toxics and Nutrients grant program is to improve both human and environmental health by preventing, reducing, and controlling toxics and nutrients from entering Puget Sound. This report is a synthesis of funded nutrient management projects and scientific application and research projects. It provides an overview of nutrient projects, discussion and recommendations based on lessons learned from these projects, and connection with related nutrient management work in the region.
