| Description | The Washington State Department of Ecology invites you to comment on our proposal to remove the BNSF Hillyard Lead Soil site from the Hazardous Sites List April 1 – April 30, 2019. BNSF Railway completed cleanup between 2008 and 2010 under Ecology’s Voluntary Cleanup Program. Contaminated soil was excavated, stockpiled into a containment area, and covered with a protective cap to prevent human contact and water from spreading contamination. Some contaminated soil and construction debris found during excavation of the containment area were disposed at a landfill. | ||||
