Description The L & E Auto Sales cleanup site (Site) is located at 2101 Burwell Place, Bremerton, WA 98312. The Site was a taxi cab parking and fueling facility from the 1940s until 1961, a used car lot until 2012, and now is a recreational vehicle sales facility. Contaminated soil was discovered in 2010 during removal of four underground storage tanks.

In 2013, Kitsap Public Health District, in cooperation with Ecology, completed a Site Hazard Assessment (SHA) for this site. The result was a ranking of “5” on a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 represents the highest risk and 5 represents the lowest risk. The SHA ranking estimates the potential threat to human health and the environment relative to other sites in Washington State.

Ecology is proposing to remove the Site from the:
• Hazardous Sites List
• Confirmed and Suspected Contaminated Sites List
• Leaking Underground Storage Tank List

The public is invited to review and comment on the:
• Draft No Further Action Letter
• Subsurface exploration Report (G-Logics, Inc., June 17, 2019)

Ecology will review and respond to all comments received. The proposed delisting may be modified based on your comments. If there are no significant comments, Ecology will delist the Site from the Hazardous Sites List.
