Description This is the first issue of a newsletter from Ecology’s UST Program. It is intended to connect owners and operators of underground storage tank (UST) with information to keep their tanks operating safely.

The UST Program is one of Ecology’s largest pollution prevention programs. We regulate more than 9,200 underground storage tanks, and work with tank owners and operators to keep more than 3 billion gallons of fuel safely stored until it is ready to use.

REVISION NOTE: On June 1, 2020, this document was revised to reflect a new due date for installing Europay, MasterCard, and Visa (EMV) chip-card readers. Due to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, Visa delayed the deadline for automatic fuel dispensers to accept chip cards from October 1, 2020, to April 17, 2021.
