Description Ecology’s Aquifer Test Procedures provide recommendations for conducting aquifer tests that yield useful and reliable data to support water right decisions. The procedures have been prepared for hydrogeologists and engineers that design and oversee constant-rate aquifer tests.
Water Resources Program hydrogeologists rely on aquifer test results, and the numerical models they inform, to better understand the occurrence, movement, and quality of groundwater. In water right decisions, aquifer test results are used to estimate potential impacts of a proposed groundwater withdrawal on senior water rights and regulated streams.
