| Description | Ecology’s Enforcement Coordination Team developed the procedures outlined in this manual to help Ecology staff consistently and fairly enforce the state’s environmental laws to get compliance. It is important to note that the procedures described in this manual are guidelines, not rules. It may be appropriate, justified, and acceptable to deviate from these guidelines at times. The person who has signature authority for the action can approve deviations from these guidelines. To accommodate differences between our various environmental programs and ensure efficient and best use of resources, each program has developed program specific guidance. Each program’s guidance addresses enforcement of the specific laws and rules administered by that program. Program specific guidance is supplemental to and under the general umbrella of this agency-wide guidance. |
