| Description | The Legislature established the state Flood Control Assistance Account (FCAA) in 1986 to help local and tribal governments plan for and reduce their flood risks. State law requires $4 million be transferred every biennium from the state General Fund to FCAA for flood-risk reduction activities. Although the amount of available funding diminished for more than a decade, Governor Inslee has included full FCAA funding in his 2021-23 proposed biennial budget. Restoring FCAA funding will give Ecology and its local partners the ability to use FCAA to prepare for and avoid flood damages. | ||||
