Description | In 2005, the Washington State Legislature established funding for the Freshwater Algae Program (FAP) through an annual one-dollar license fee assessed to the owners of boats. This program focuses on waterbodies with cyanobacteria, not algae. This program includes elements for public education, technical assistance, a toxicity testing program, and pass-through grants that address toxic fresh-water blooms. | ||||
