Description Used in solvents, as a chemical intermediate, and to sterilize surgical equipment, ethylene oxide (EtO) is a colorless, water-soluble, odorless gas with an atmospheric lifetime of approximately 3-6 months. Using cavity ringdown spectroscopy, EtO concentrations were determined at three different monitoring sites in Washington State in June 2021. This report describes the findings of this monitoring project.
