Description Ecology completed an Environmental Justice Assessment to inform a new grant program, the Climate Resilient Riparian Systems Lead (CR2SL). The program will result in greater area of riparian acreage protected, restored, or maintained for climate resiliency. Surrounding Puget Sound communities will benefit from resulting restoration projects that increase canopy cover and green spaces, improve water quality and improve habitat for fish and aquatic life. CR2SL engaged with Puget Sound Tribes, organizations, and individuals to inform the early investment priorities. Ecology expects the program will result in benefits to overburdened communities and vulnerable populations and has not identified significant impacts.
