In 2023, the Washington State Legislature passed a bill creating a comprehensive battery stewardship program. Part of the bill required the Washington State Department of Ecology to research the management of electric vehicle batteries and provide the Legislature a preliminary report in November 2023 and a final report in April 2024. |
